How to Handle Road Emergencies
If a blowout occurs, ease off on the accelerator and brake gradually until you're able to pull the car safely off the road. Before changing a flat tire, make sure that: 1. The car is well off the road and not parked on a sloping shoulder. 2. The parking brake is set and warming flashers are switched on. 3. Both front wheels are blocked. 4. The spare tire is removed before raising the car with the jack. 5. The jack is positioned properly before car is raised. 6. No one is standing too close to the raised vehicle, and no passengers are inside. |
