Safe Traveling
To make your trip as enjoyable as possible, take the time to plan some precautionary measures. 1. Do some homework to know what to expect from the place you're visiting. If there's an outbreak in the area, postpone the visit until it has been cleared by the DOH. 2. Wear comfortable clothes while traveling. 3. Pack the proper clothing to keep you comfortable and well protected against extreme heat, cold or harsh climate. 4. Find out the reputable restaurants in the area where they observe healthful and sanitary food preparation. If you have any allergies, be sure to bring your medication. 5. Bring a first aid kit to cover most minor medical emergencies. Essentials include: - Bandage, gauze pads, medical adhesive tape for cuts and bruises - Scissors, tweezers and safety pins - Antibacterial skin ointment to prevent wound infections and minimize the appearance of scars - Insect repellant and anti-itch lotion - Sunscreen and lip balm with SPF - Smelling salts or ammonia inhalants - Water purification tablets - Medication for diarrhea - Bonamine chewables to avoid motion sickness. - Anti-allergy medications to relieve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis such as runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose or throat, itchy/watery eyes. - Paracetamol to relieve tension pains such as headaches, body and muscle pain, as well as, toothaches, sprains, and dysmenorrheal pain. - Cold medications to relieve the symptoms of blocked sinuses including headache, facial pain, and colds. If you are taking prescription medicine, take enough to last you the whole trip. It is also advisable to bring a copy of the prescription issued by your physician. |
