Among its many functions, it is our first line of defense against harmful substances in the environment and it protects our internal organs from injury. As such, the skin demands a great deal of attention and care. No matter how busy you are, take the time to care for your skin. A healthy lifestyle can lead to a healthier, more beautiful skin. 1. Eat a balanced diet. Take in adequate amounts of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Foods that are rich in vitamins A, C and E contain antioxidants that help protect the skin against damage caused by air pollution. Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated. 2. Exercise. It boosts your blood circulation, and helps bring oxygen and vital nutrients to all parts of the body including the skin. 3. Know your skin type. Use soap and skin products that are compatible with your complexion. Wash your face regularly to remove germs and dirt that can cause skin irritation and blemishes. 4. Sleep well. The quality of rest you take tends to show on your face Lack of sleep may make your skin puffy, lacking luster, and pale. 5. Protect yourself from the sun. Overexposure to the sun can cause wrinkles, sunburn, and increases the risk of skin cancer. Protect yourself y using sunscreen regularly, wearing protective clothing, and avoiding exposure between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. |
