Flies Pest Control
Why are they unhealthy and dangerous? Flies are the most common household pests. And though they look harmless, they carry disease germs on their hairy legs like dysentery, cholera, typhoid and other diseases. Where do flies breed? Flies are dirty insects. They step on rubbish, waste matter and dead animals. Then they fly into our homes and step on food. Flies lay their eggs on animal manure, human waste and on garbage. They hatch into larva, which feed on these dirty things. How do you get rid of flies? To get rid of flies, keep your surroundings clean. Always use a sanitary toilet. Keep all food covered. Use wire screen covers for food on the table. If there is no place where flies can lay their eggs, there will be no flies. If they find no food, flies will go to find their food somewhere else. They will die. Fly swatters are used to kill flies. Other tips: 1. Indoor spraying of flies with insecticides is most effective at the brightest time of the day. When light is dull, they dose on walls and ceilings. But they buzz around when light is bright. 2. Flies are hard to chase around and swat. Thus, aerosol insecticides are recommended because of the fine mist they emit, making it harder for flies to avoid the killing power of the fly-and-mosquito insecticide. 3. Once a week, check your property for fly - and mosquito - breeding places. Even an old tin can left outdoors will support 500 mosquito larvae. For that matter, don't forget to change regularly water in flower vases and other plant holders since these too are potential breeding places. 4. If you must stay outdoors for long periods, such as in campsites of your own garden, where controlling mosquitoes with insecticides is impractical, take along an insect repellant. Apply on exposed limbs and you will be freed of mosquito bites at least 5 hours. 5. Sometimes, even window and door screens do not guarantee insect invasion. Spray window and door screens with a residual insecticide spray to kill tiny pests, which can squeeze through small openings. The spray also takes care of flies and mosquitoes that alight on screen. 6. Keep garbage containers tightly covered and empty them often so they don't spill and attract flies. Bury or burn your garbage if there is no regular garbage collection in your area. |
