Why are they unhealthy and dangerous? Mosquitoes are dangerous pests because they carry germs of malaria and H-fever. Have you ever been bothered by mosquitoes buzzing near your ears? Did you feel annoyed by them? Mosquito bites are very itchy. Where do mosquitoes breed? Mosquitoes breed in standing water. They lay their eggs in water left in tin cans in the surroundings. They lay their eggs in water in tanks, bamboo posts and in uncovered water containers. When the eggs hatch, they become wrigglers. Have you seen wrigglers in water? They come to the surface of the water to breathe. How can you get rid of mosquitoes? Understanding the different breeding sources of mosquitoes will help you take preventative measure on that area to make sure they are sanitized and maintained clean daily. Mosquitoes breed in drains, sewers, septic tanks and soil that has been contaminated with sewerage. Like all flies, the mosquito develops by complete metamorphosis. The mosquito is attracted to any area where moisture has accumulated including mops and wet rags. The larvae emerge from the eggs and turn into wrigglers that feed near the surface of the fermenting material for 5-6 days. How can you get rid of mosquitoes? Clean your surroundings. Bury all empty cans and coconut shells. Cover standing water with soil. Sprayers may also be used. Read the directions on the container. The insecticides used in spraying are dangerous. Keep them out of the reach of children. To kill wrigglers, pour kerosene on standing water. They will not be able to come to the surface to breathe. Another natural wav would be to plant basils and mosquito trees around your house. These plants like mosquito coils act as mosquito-repellants. |
