Safety Measures When Spraying
1. Keep children and pets away from pesticides and sprayed areas. Such dangerous material should be kept under lock and key. Don't store them with food products. Never use garden insecticides inside the house. 2. If someone swallows a pesticide, call a doctor immediately and keep the pesticide label with you. 3. Do not smoke while spraying. Watch out that some products may be inflammable. 4. Avoid inhalation of pesticides. 5. Never spray outdoors on a windy day. 6. Pesticides that require special protective clothing or equipment should be observed. Ideally, wear clothes that cover you completely. Wear rubber gloves. If working in close quarters or for a long period of time, wear a respirator mask. 7. If you spill a pesticide on your skin or your clothing, wash with soap and water and change clothes immediately. 8. Store pesticides under lock in the original containers with proper labels. Never transfer a pesticide to a container, such as a soft drink bottle, that would attract children. Keep the insecticides in their original containers and keep the label clean and intact. 9. Dispose of empty containers safely by wrapping in several layers of newspaper, tying securely, and placing them in a covered trashcan. 10. Wash with soap and water after using pesticides, and launder your clothes before wearing them again since your clothing is bound to become contaminated. |
